インターンシップを経験することを留学のゴールとする学生は多いです。
今日は当校で就学をし、インターンを行った学生によるインターンシップレポートを紹介します。
当校でインターンを行った学生は毎月レポートを当校へ提出することが義務付けられています。
14週間の就学後、トレーディング会社にて9週間のインターンシップを行った日本人学生によるレポートです。
受講プログラム: Intensive ESL / Intensive Business
英語レベル: Pre-Advanced (レベル6/8）
ポジション: General Office Work / Account Assistant
職種・業界: オフィスワーク/貿易業
会社概要 (学生本人による会社紹介文）
G.H Johnson is a trading company for furniture, linen and other home furnishing related stuffs. They started
their business in 1946 and are trading their products line mainly from U.S, Europe and Asian countries such as
China, Vietnam, Indonesia since then. Moreover they have a diversity of customer basis, for example, they are not
only selling goods for end users but also other household companies or retailers.
They have a huge selling space and an office inside of their building located on Dupon St. There are approximately 20 people working in the main office including receptionists, sales reps, accountants and people in other positions. The members of the company are not only consisting of native Canadians but also immigrants from other countries such as Philippine or China and so on.

書類整理、請求書処理、書類確認、専用PCソフトを用いた書類・データ管理、データ入力、50-100の書類を担当、顧客情報整理、セールス・チームとのミーティング、顧客情報をセールス・チームへレポートなど
感想 (直筆抜粋）
It is required to have a basic communication skill in both English and social manners as a member of a company even though G.H Johnson’s has a non-strict family-atmosphere. Moreover, it is also required to be cautious to numbers as an accountant. Sometimes their sales reps make mistakes in invoices. Therefore we need to check the numbers carefully to avoid confusion on the daily sales or amounts of trading products. Hence, this position can be said as a good opportunity for experiencing a daily general office work in a company and observing a work environment of English speakers. Compared with my past working experience in Japan, the daily works seems to be processed under relatively relaxed mood (not only mentioned about my tasks but also other staff’s). It could come from both because of Canadian business culture or G.H Johnson’s own internal culture I suppose. Of course, each staffs have their own busy daily tasks. However, these tasks do not look like hard stressful processes but more enjoyable works. I feel that there is a definitely different fundamental attitude to business from Asian ones as many people mentions on business text books before. This is a joyful surprise and findings through this internship.

毎年各学生が母国の伝統料理などを持ち合いポットラックパーティを行います。
当校より巨大ターキーも振舞われます。卒業生も参加できるパーティです。
